Opposition leader: Georgian Dream regime will collapse like dominoes

Petre Tsiskarishvili, Secretary General of the opposition party Unity – National Movement, on Thursday claimed the European Parliament and various European institutions had “precisely targeted the vulnerabilities” of the ruling Georgian Dream party, which he believes will lead to its downfall.

Tsiskarishvili said despite claims by Georgian Dream representatives that “sanctions do not scare them, they are deeply affected”. He argued that the restrictions imposed by European institutions will also impact their close associates, including business partners, making it increasingly difficult for them to sustain their operations.

“They say they are not afraid, that these sanctions do not affect them, but in reality, they are feeling the pressure. It is not just them—those around them, the businessmen they rely on, will also face difficulties maintaining and continuing relations with them,” Tsiskarishvili said.
He expressed confidence that the ruling party’s hold on power will collapse like a chain reaction, comparing it to a domino effect. “The European Parliament and various European institutions have very accurately identified the sore spot that will contribute to the destruction of the ‘dream’,” he added.

The European Parliament will vote on the Georgia resolution later today.
