Chairperson of the United National Movement party, Tina Bokuchava, has welcomed the recent resolution adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), calling it another significant victory for Georgia and its citizens.
“The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has adopted a resolution on Georgia, and two key demands remain in force – the release of political prisoners and new, fair parliamentary elections. This is another victory for Georgia and the Georgian people,” Bokuchava stated.
She emphasized that the resolution followed special debates on the situation in Georgia and reaffirmed the Assembly’s fundamental conditions: the release of political prisoners and the holding of fair and democratic parliamentary elections.
“Without meeting these demands, representatives of Ivanishvili’s regime – whether led by Tsulukiani or any other member of the regime – will not be allowed to participate in this Assembly,” Bokuchava noted.
She underscored that the resolution is not only a diplomatic success but a crucial step forward for democratic processes in Georgia.
