Giorgi Vashadze, leader of the Unity party, claims that the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party is headed for a decisive defeat in the upcoming October 26 elections, predicting they will lose by 20% to 80%. According to him, 80% of the Georgian population favors European Union integration, while only 20% might support the government due to fear and intimidation tactics.
“The vast majority of the public wants to join the EU, while 20% may be pressured into following Ivanishvili’s dictatorship and isolation. This is the reality we face,” Vashadze declared, speaking about the Honorary Chair and founder of the GD party, Bidzina Ivanishvili.
He also criticized the ruling party’s governance, labeling it a “Georgian nightmare” and accusing them of creating distractions rather than addressing their diminishing public support.
“They won’t admit they are losing, so they come out with all kinds of absurd statements. But the mood of the people is clear—they can’t win more than 20% of the vote. Georgian Dream’s only strategy now is to spread pessimism among the public,” Vashadze added.
The opposition leader reassured voters that change is coming, expressing confidence that the Georgian people will overwhelmingly choose a future aligned with the European Union over what he described as the ruling party’s increasingly isolated stance.
“Georgian Dream is losing. The Georgian nightmare is coming to an end, and the public will see it when they lose 20% to 80% in the elections,” he concluded.
