Zurab Japaridze, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Changes, has announced that the opposition had compiled lists of individuals whom they believe should be sanctioned for “suspending” EU integration following the Government’s move last year to “delay” the integration into the bloc until 2028.
He said the lists include a wide range of individuals, though specific names have not been disclosed.
Speaking to supporters, Japaridze emphasized the importance of ongoing protests on Rustaveli Avenue, describing them as a crucial element in the political struggle.
“The most principled issue is to go out and stand on Rustaveli every evening. Everything is based on the protest, which is on Rustaveli. Regardless of what type of criticism there will be, it does not matter. This protest must be strengthened and expanded. This protest, ultimately, must lead us to victory,” he stated.
Japaridze also underlined that international support was directly linked to the scale and persistence of demonstrations in the heart of the capital. He urged demonstrators to continue mobilizing in order to increase pressure on authorities.
