Opposition says ruling party tries to hastily approve municipal budgets

Georgian opposition For Georgia and the United National Movement parties say that the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party has launched discussing the 2022 budget in municipal city assemblies and has plans  to approve the budget before the new convocation of the city assemblies are present following the recent, October municipal elections.

The party members called on the GD ‘not to dare to do this,’ because it would be disrespectful to voters.

The For Georgia party says that after the municipal race, their vote is crucial in several city assemblies for making decisions.

In the proportional part of the municipal elections the GD received almost 47 percent of the vote, followed by the UNM – 30.7 percent of the vote and For Georgia – 7.79 percent of the vote.
