Patriarch Ilia II of Georgia released a statement following the conclusion of the Central Election Commission’s announcement of the final election results, which confirmed the ruling Georgian Dream party’s victory.
“The process of revealing the election results by the CEC has concluded, once again confirming the overwhelming victory of the Georgian Dream. We sincerely congratulate them on this success,” the statement reads.
Addressing the ongoing protests and objections by the opposition regarding the election outcomes, the Patriarch expressed hope for unity and collaboration between political factions.
“Although the opposition protests the election results and plans to continue its resistance, we hope that both the government and the opposition will use the coming years to the fullest for the progress and welfare of the country,” the Patriarch said.
Emphasizing faith and divine guidance, Ilia II concluded with a spiritual message:
“Everything in this world happens by God’s will. What matters is achieving synergy between us and the Lord. May the Lord grant strength to His people, and may He bless Georgia with peace. Amen.”
