PM Garibashvili claims gov’t opponents also attack church, army, court, police, journalists

Georgiani Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili says that the government opponents are also attacking all local trustworthy institutions, including the church, army, court and police and they also stood behind the ‘provocation’ during Tbilisi Pride events back in July when right-wing activists attacked journalists.

Garibashvili said ‘we are well-aware who are standing behind the provocations’ and ‘they will be held accountable.’

“Attacking journalists is unacceptable. It was a catastrophic mistake,” Garibashvili said.

Earlier Garibashvili openly accused the United National Movement opposition party and its founder, former President Mikheil Saakashvili, of staging provocations and sparking tension in the country.
