Poland imposes entry ban on eight Georgian officials over protest crackdown

Poland has imposed sanctions on eight high-ranking Georgian law enforcement officials in response to what it describes as increasing repression of opposition voices and violence against peaceful protesters in Georgia.

According to a statement released by Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on social media, the sanctioned individuals are barred from entering Polish territory. While their names have not been disclosed, the ministry emphasized that those targeted are directly responsible for the recent acts of violence committed against demonstrators.

“Poland supports the pro-European aspirations of Georgian society,” the statement added, underscoring Warsaw’s solidarity with the Georgian public amid concerns of democratic backsliding under the current government.
