President Salome Zourabichvili has praised the resilience of Georgians protesting in defense of their constitution and commitment to a European future, amid protests against the recent decision by the Government to delay the country’s EU accession talks until 2028.
In a post on the social platform X, the President wrote, “another strong night of Georgians standing firm in defense of their constitution and European choice.”
Protests across the country against the Georgian Dream authorities demand new elections, calling the October 26 vote rigged. The demonstrators accuse the Government of derailing the EU path and aligning with Russian interests.
