President Salome Zourabichvili has revealed that she already has a candidate in mind for the position of Prime Minister in forming a coalition government. However, she has not yet disclosed the person’s identity.
“The charter states that the Prime Minister must be selected in consultation with me. I already have a candidate. I won’t announce the name right now because consultations with the political parties need to occur first, and we need to reach an agreement,” Zourabichvili said in an interview with TV Pirveli.
When asked if her candidate has a political background, Zourabichvili responded: “No. I am certain of one thing: today, we need to announce the government. Voters must know in advance who will be part of it, and they must be highly qualified professionals.”
She also mentioned that starting Monday, she will begin consultations with opposition political parties regarding potential ministerial candidates.
