President Zourabichvili to protesters: “You did not lose election, your voice was stolen”

In an address to the protesters gathered on Rustaveli Avenue, President Salome Zourabichvili expressed her unwavering support for the Georgian people, asserting that the October 26 election results were manipulated. “You did not lose this election, your voice was stolen, and there was an attempt to steal your future. But no one has the right to do this, and you won’t allow it,” Zourabichvili stated.

Vowing to support the people to the end, Zourabichvili pledged her commitment to Georgia’s European path.

“I swear, in front of this flag that first represented our freedom and independence, that I will be with you until we reach the doors that belong to us in Europe,” she said, emphasizing the importance of leaving a legacy of freedom, independence, and European identity for future generations.

The President also highlighted her extensive discussions with international media and world leaders, sharing that she had conducted interviews with foreign journalists and spoken with six presidents and multiple foreign ministers to explain Georgia’s situation.

“This was a premeditated operation that took away our voices, took away our parliament and our constitution. But we stand together, and no one will leave these results as they are. We will defend your rights. We have nothing but our voice—the voice of the people, the voice of the nation, which must be fulfilled, and it will be,” the President stressed.
