On February 25, Soviet Occupation Day, multiple protest marches are taking place across Tbilisi, converging at Heroes’ Square. Demonstrators set off from various locations, including Gegeshidze Park, Avlabari Metro, Vake Park, Marjanishvili Square, Station Square, and the Sports Palace.
After gathering at Heroes’ Square, protesters plan to continue marching towards Rustaveli Avenue, where they will rally in front of the Parliament building. Many participants hold banners displaying the names of detained pro-European activists.
For 90 consecutive days, Georgians have been protesting, demanding the country’s return to its pro-European path, new parliamentary elections, and the release of unlawfully detained demonstrators. The protests began on November 28, 2024, after the ruling Georgian Dream government announced it would not pursue EU membership negotiations until at least the end of 2028.
