A rally titled Raise Your Voice! Take Back Your Vote! will take place outside the Georgian Parliament on November 25 at 9 a.m., when the inaugural session of the new parliament is scheduled, as citizens, opposition members, and civil groups unite to contest the October 26 election results.
The protest organized by the My Voice movement aims to challenge the legitimacy of the October 26 election results, which organizers and opposition figures claim were manipulated. “The citizens of Georgia are united by our shared history and common struggle for a democratic future,” reads the rally’s statement. “But today, they tell us that one man [in reference to Bidzina Ivanishvili, the ruling party honorary chair], who built his wealth in Russia, should determine the fate of our country. On November 25, a Parliament appointed by him will convene—this is a criminal act, an attempt to seize power through crime.”
The rally will bring together opposition parties, civil society members, and citizens in a unified call for change. “We, the people, must not stay silent. We must raise our voices and reclaim our vote! On November 25, at 9am, gather behind Parliament of Georgia,” the statement urged.
The protest is expected to intensify the political crisis that has followed the elections, with opposition groups refusing to recognize the results and accusing the ruling Georgian Dream party of undermining democratic processes. Georgian Dream has defended the integrity of the elections, maintaining that they were free and fair.
With tensions running high, the rally is set to serve as a pivotal moment in Georgia’s post-election landscape, as citizens demand accountability and transparency in the electoral process.
