After 12 years, none of the promises made to the population have been fulfilled, and the planned replacement of Irakli Garibashvili by Irakli Kobnakhidze as the prime minister will not lead to an improvement in the economy, said Paata Manjgaladze, a member of Strategy Agmashenebeli opposition party, on Tuesday.
Manjgaladze noted that Garibashvili, Ivanishvili, the founder of the ruling party and its honorary chair, and Kobakhidze shared “similar perspectives” and “lacked distinct visions”.
“For over a decade, the Georgian Dream party has failed to address the issues promised to the populace. The Georgian Dream party fails to provide a clear answer to the fundamental question: how will they govern differently under Kobakhidze’s leadership? Neither Bidzina Ivanishvili nor Kobakhidze nor Garibashvili have presented a new vision. Attempting to portray Kobakhidze as the key to economic progress is misleading. It’s evident that Kobakhidze lacks the necessary foresight”, he said.
The GD has praised Kobakhidze as a “very good manager”.
