Ruling party Executive Secretary dismisses President’s constitutional lawsuit against elections, claims “no chance of success”

Mamuka Mdinaradze, Executive Secretary of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Thursday dismissed the constitutional lawsuit filed by the President regarding the election results, claiming it has no legal basis and is “stupid.”

Mdinaradze asserted that there was “no chance” the lawsuit would succeed, adding that only “subjective factors” could influence a decision.

“I know for sure in advance that there is no chance this lawsuit will be satisfied,” Mdinaradze said, emphasizing his legal expertise in dismissing the claims. He continued, “Even theoretically, this cannot be allowed,” and argued that the case lacked merit from the start.

However, Mdinaradze suggested that if the decision were based on subjective factors, external pressure could influence the outcome. “If the decision is subjective, you could scare, blackmail, and threaten someone with death, and they may come to a different conclusion,” he remarked. Despite this, he was firm in his belief that any objective decision would reject the lawsuit.

Mdinaradze stressed that “unlike previous governments”, the current administration did not engage in “any form of pressure”, asserting that the judicial system “enjoys full independence and guarantees of freedom”.
