Mamuka Mdinaradze, the Executive Secretary of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Thursday leveled allegations against former Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, who currently chairs the For Georgia opposition party, suggesting his ascension within the GD Government represented a “tribute paid to the foreign patrons of Gakharia”.
During a briefing, Mdinaradze criticized Gakharia’s actions while in key government roles, claiming he had “deliberately sought to undermine the government’s reputation under external influence”.
Mdinaradze’s remarks raised questions about the dynamics of Gakharia’s promotion from Minister of Internal Affairs to Prime Minister, particularly in light of the controversies surrounding his tenure. Mdinaradze claimed Gakharia’s rise was not merely a reflection of his capabilities but rather indicative of deeper political maneuvering and foreign interests at play.
