The Russian Foreign Ministry has condemned the international leaders who visited Kyiv on February 24 to mark the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, calling them representatives of the “party of war.”
Among those who traveled to Kyiv in a show of support were European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Maria Zakharova, director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s press center, criticized the visit, suggesting that these leaders are fueling the conflict rather than seeking peace.
In a statement on X, the Russian MFA wrote: “The hawks flocking to Kiev spouted announcements of new military aid packages. This means the representatives from the party of war continue to cling to a confrontational course.”
