Georgian president Salome Zourabichvili said the Kremlin’s decision on Wednesday to lift visa and direct flight ban with Georgia was a “provocation” and “unacceptable” as long as Russia continued its aggression against Ukraine and occupation of Georgian territories.
The president has also scheduled a press briefing at 4 p.m later today that will allegedly discuss the specific topic.
The Kremlin’s decision comes ahead of the European Union’s decision whether to grant Georgia its membership candidate status by the end of this, and the allegations by the domestic opposition to the Georgian Dream authorities on pursuing “pro-Russian policies”.
