Preliminary reports indicate that seven people have been killed and 12 injured following Russian airstrikes on Ukraine’s Sumy region on September 28, according to the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
The Russian Armed Forces launched the first strike using unmanned aerial vehicles at 7:35 am local time. The airstrike hit a clinic where 86 patients and 38 staff members were present.
A second strike occurred 50 minutes later, during the evacuation of patients from the damaged building. The first strike claimed one life, while the second attack resulted in five additional fatalities, including a police officer.
This incident follows a similar airstrike on September 25, when one person was killed. Russian forces have been targeting the Sumy region with guided bombs and drones, causing extensive damage to civilian infrastructure.
