The presidents of Russia and Turkey, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will hold talks in Sochi on September 4, the Kremlin press office confirmed on Friday.
The meeting will reportedly discuss the Grain Agreement, brokered by the UN and Turkey last year that ensured the transportation of grains and other agricultural products from Ukraine across the world amid Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine, following Moscow’s withdrawal from the deal in July.
Moscow claimed that part of the agreement, which was related to the export of Russian fertilizers and food, was not fulfilled and began regular bombing of the Odessa region of Ukraine.
Russia’s demands include the restoration of the supply of agricultural machinery and its parts, the entry of Russian cargo ships into foreign ports, the unblocking of transport logistics and the return of Rosselkhozbank to the international tax system SWIFT.
