At the end of her tour to the Baltic states, Georgia’s Former President Salome Zourabichvili met with top Estonian officials on March 28, including President Alar Karis, Speaker of the Riigikogu Lauri Hussar, and Chairman of the Estonian Parliament’s Foreign Relations Committee Marko Mihkelson, along with other committee members.
Following her meetings, Zourabichvili expressed gratitude for Estonia’s strong support for Georgia’s European path, stating on X:
“Estonia stands with us on our European path and supports the Georgian people’s call for new, free, and fair elections.”
After her discussion with Estonian President Alar Karis, Zourabishvili reaffirmed his commitment to Georgia’s European future, writing:
“Met with Alar Karis. He conveyed to you, the Georgian people, his unwavering support in your determined fight for our European future.”
During her meeting with Lauri Hussar, the Speaker of the Riigikogu, she emphasized Estonia’s continued backing, stating he “strongly reaffirmed his support for Georgia and the Georgian people in our unwavering pursuit of democratic elections. Thank you for your personal support!”
Zourabishvili also engaged with Marko Mihkelson, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Estonian Parliament, where discussions focused on the broader European security landscape and Georgia’s strategic importance.
“Despite the many challenges facing European security today, Georgia is vital and must be on the EU agenda,” she noted.
