Georgia’s fifth President Salome Zourabichvili has called on the public to unite on March 31, a significant date in the country’s history.
In a video address, Zourabichvili emphasized the importance of the day, stating that it marks Georgia’s final rejection of Soviet rule and its commitment to independence, freedom, and a European future.
“I want to address everyone and say that on March 31, which is such an important day in our country’s history, we will all come together. We will mark the day when we definitively rejected occupation and Soviet rule and said ‘yes’ to independence, freedom, and our European future,” she declared.
Meanwhile, opposition parties and civil activists have announced plans for a large-scale demonstration on the same day.
