Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze on Wednesday announced an increase in financial awards for registered citizens of Tbilisi aged 100 and over.
The one-time payment has been tripled from 1,000 GEL to 10,000 GEL as “part of the city’s efforts” to honor its centenarians.
“Last year, 57 citizens benefited from this program, with 23 turning 100 and 34 reaching 101 or older,” Kaladze noted. “I wish these individuals good health and a long life.”
To receive the award, eligible citizens or their representatives must submit an application to the Tbilisi City Hall’s Health and Social Services City Service. Required documents include the centenarian’s identity card and an information card issued by the Civil Registry confirming continuous registration in Tbilisi for at least the past year.
Additionally, individuals who have already benefited from the program prior to 2025 will automatically receive the increased amount without needing to reapply.
