Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has confirmed that the city’s New Year’s illuminations will be switched on today.
Speaking at a briefing at the city hall, Kaladze revealed that the main Christmas tree will also be lit, though there will be no formal ceremony to mark the occasion.
The ceremony was scheduled on Saturday, after the presidential elections, but was cancelled due to protests at the scene.
