Eka Gigauri, Executive Director of Transparency International Georgia, announced that the organization plans to file approximately 200 complaints by the end of today, requesting the annulment of results from specific polling stations due to alleged electoral violations.
Gigauri explained that Tuesday marks the final day to submit complaints, and the organization has been examining the issues underlying these filings. She emphasized that there were observed schemes that allegedly aimed to manipulate the election results, with concerns over the role of certain state institutions.
“The deadline to submit complaints is today, and we have reviewed the issues we are raising in these filings. Around 200 complaints will be filed, requesting annulment of results in specific precincts. There were also discussions about schemes that were allegedly used to falsify the election. The President is interested in the role of specific state institutions in these matters,” stated Gigauri.
The announcement followed a meeting at the Orbeliani Presidential Residence between opposition leaders and President Salome Zourabichvili, where discussions focused on strategies and electoral concerns.
