Trump announces Pompeo and Haley won’t join new administration

United States President-elect Donald Trump announced on November 10 via Truth Social that he would not invite former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo or former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley to join his new administration.

“I will not be inviting former Ambassador Nikki Haley, or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, to join the Trump Administration, which is currently in formation. I very much enjoyed and appreciated working with them previously, and would like to thank them for their service to our Country. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” He wrote.

Trump’s election makes him the oldest president to ever win a US presidential election, breaking the previous record held by his predecessor, Joe Biden, who won at age 77. At 78, Trump will now return to office as both the 45th and 47th president, marking a historic comeback in American politics.

Trump’s non-consecutive terms place him alongside Grover Cleveland, the only other president in U.S. history to serve two non-consecutive terms, a rare political feat last achieved over 130 years ago.
