In a new interview with The Atlantic, US President Donald Trump declared that during his second term, he is not only running the United States but also “the world,” marking a striking evolution in how he views his role on the global stage.
“The first time, I had two things to do — run the country and survive; I had all these crooked guys,” Trump told The Atlantic in comments published Monday. “And the second time, I run the country and the world.”
Asked about the possibility of seeking a third presidential term — a notion he has previously floated — Trump offered a more restrained response.
“It’s not something that I’m looking to do. And I think it would be a very hard thing to do,” he said.
