US President Donald Trump is prepared to impose stricter sanctions on Russia, particularly targeting the country’s oil production and exports, according to Keith Kellogg, the US President’s special representative for Ukraine. Kellogg made the statement in an interview with the New York Post.
Kellogg noted that the United States is using sanctions pressure against Russia more aggressively than other nations. However, he assessed the overall implementation of these measures as merely three out of ten, suggesting there is significant room for further action.
Additionally, Kellogg criticized the approach of President Joe Biden’s administration in dealing with the conflict in Ukraine. He argued that while military aid to Ukraine has been sustained, economic and diplomatic measures against Russia have not been escalated to the necessary levels. He emphasized the need for a more comprehensive strategy to curb Russia’s ability to sustain its war effort.
