The United Kingdom has imposed financial sanctions on the head of Georgia’s Special Investigation Service, Karlo Katsitadze, under its Global Human Rights Sanctions Regulations.
The measures include the freezing of financial and economic assets belonging to Katsitadze, in response to what the UK government described as serious human rights violations.
Three other Georgian officials – Shalva Bedoidze, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Giorgi Gabitashvili, the Prosecutor General of Georgia and Mirza Kezevadze, Deputy Head of the Special Assignments Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs- have also been sanctioned as part of the same action.
