UK PM open to deploying peacekeeping troops for Ukraine

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has expressed his readiness to contribute to Ukraine’s security guarantees, including the possible deployment of British peacekeeping troops if necessary.

According to reports, Starmer made these remarks ahead of an informal meeting in Paris, where European leaders are convening to discuss Ukraine and broader defense issues. The summit is expected to focus on military aid, security commitments, and the future of European defense cooperation.

Starmer also emphasized the need for Europe to increase its defense spending, urging allies to bolster their military capabilities in response to ongoing security threats.

On the topic of Ukraine’s NATO aspirations, the UK Prime Minister acknowledged that while membership may take time, Western nations must remain committed to supporting Kyiv on its “irreversible path” toward joining the alliance.
