On Sunday, Ukraine launched its largest drone strike yet on Moscow, deploying at least 25 drones and forcing a temporary shutdown of two major airports, according to Russian officials. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed the drones over the Ramenskoye and Kolomensky districts, as well as Domodedovo city, located southwest of Moscow.
“There is no damage or casualties at the site of the fall of the debris,” Sobyanin said via Telegram, noting that emergency services were swiftly deployed to the areas targeted. The attack brought temporary disruption to two of the city’s main airports, highlighting the growing reach of Ukraine’s aerial offensive operations.
The Ramenskoye district, about 45 kilometers southeast of the Kremlin, had previously been targeted in September during what was then Ukraine’s largest drone assault on the Russian capital.
