Ukraine launches largest strike on Russia: Burned bases and factories up to 1,100 km away

On January 14, Ukraine’s armed forces carried out their largest strike on Russian military targets deep within Russian territory, targeting sites between 200 and 1,100 kilometers away. According to Ukraine’s General Staff, strikes hit Bryansk, Saratov, Tula regions, and the Republic of Tatarstan.

In Saratov’s Engels district, an attack was launched on an oil storage facility, with fires lasting five days before being extinguished.

In Bryansk, a chemical plant in the town of Seltso was hit. This plant is a key facility in Russia’s military-industrial complex, producing ammunition for artillery, rocket systems, aviation, and cruise missiles such as the X-59. Secondary explosions were reported at the site for several hours. Additionally, two Russian air defense systems, “Tor” and “Buk,” were destroyed during the attack.

Ukraine’s military intelligence and special security units also targeted strategic facilities of Russia’s military-industrial complex, including the Saratov oil refinery and the “Kazan Orgsynthez” plant, both of which caught fire.

“The targeted and systematic strikes on facilities supplying the Russian occupation army with ammunition, military equipment, and fuel will continue until Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine is completely halted,” the General Staff declared.
