Ukraine will not purchase the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine due to the lack of confirmation of its effectiveness, said President Vladimir Zelensky.
"There is no confirmation of the effectiveness of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine," – Zelensky said during a conversation with reporters during the Ukraine 30. Coronavirus: Challenges and Answers All-Ukrainian Forum in Kiev on Monday.
Speaking about vaccination in Ukraine, the President stressed that the authorities should enable all citizens of the country to be vaccinated against coronavirus, but there is a problem with people's confidence in vaccination.
"We must give everyone the opportunity to be vaccinated, but 50% do not believe in vaccination," – Zelensky said.
In this context, he said that he is "ready to be vaccinated together with the military, as the supreme commander in chief."
Zelensky also noted that Ukraine will receive up to 1 million doses of the vaccine already in Feral, and by the summer of 2021 – 10 million doses.
