Unity – National Movement to appeal to CEC to withdraw parliamentary list

Tina Bokuchava, leader of the Unity – National Movement, on Tuesday announced that the party would appeal to the Central Election Commission (CEC) to withdraw its parliamentary list following Georgia’s recent elections.

Bokuchava emphasized that the party refuses to accept the election results, rejecting both the mandates and the legitimacy of the elections.

“I would like to make a statement as the chairperson of the Unity – National Movement regarding the fact that our representative will submit a letter signed by me to the CEC in accordance with the procedure established by law, which requires the Central Election Administration to withdraw our parliamentary list, since and because we do not recognize the results of these elections, we refuse mandates, we do not recognize the legitimacy of these elections”, she said.

The Stong Georgia and the Coalition for Change have also made the appeals, with only Gakharia for Georgia, one of four opposition groups taking seats in the 11th Parliament, left to address the CEC.
