The US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Yuri Kim, has refuted claims that there is a global war party aiming to harm the country of Georgia, as claimed by its ruling power.
“When you claim that the representatives of the US government are against the actions of the Georgian Dream, but the ‘real’ relationship with the US is as healthy as ever, this is false information. It is impossible to walk both ways,” Kim said.
She continued, “when you claim that the American ambassador, the personal representative of the American president, is somehow running a fraud operation to stage a coup against the elected government of a friendly country like Georgia, that’s fake news again!”
Kim emphasized the inconsistency in Georgia’s stance: “You cannot say you represent your people and you want a future in Europe and a strong relationship with the United States and then do what your people and friends have said is exactly what Russia is doing and what Russia wants”.
“This is madness, especially when 20 percent of the country is occupied by Russia,” she added.
