The United States is currently reviewing the specifics of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s proposed victory plan, according to John Kirby, White House National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications. While the finer details are still being examined, Kirby emphasized Washington’s overall support for the initiative.
“We are obviously still digging through its details. So I’m not going to get into nuts and bolts on every little item in it. But I will say that as we made clear, we support President Zelensky‘s plan for a just peace,” Kirby stated.
Kirby further underscored the importance of achieving peace that is fully endorsed by both Zelensky and the Ukrainian people. He also reassured that the US has no plans to negotiate Ukraine’s future with foreign leaders who do not align with Zelensky’s vision for a just resolution.
Zelensky initially presented his victory plan to President Joe Biden in September during his visit to the United States. A White House delegation is expected to visit Ukraine soon to provide feedback on the proposal.
