Zelenskyy: Kursk operation achieved its main objective

The Kursk operation has achieved its primary goal—forcing a significant portion of Russian troops to withdraw from the Pokrovsk, Kharkiv, and Sumy directions, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a press briefing on Friday.

According to him, Ukrainian soldiers demonstrated extraordinary resilience, withstanding heavy enemy strikes, which helped ease pressure on critical front-line sectors.

“Our guys are absolute heroes. They took on a powerful blow. The pressure in the Kharkiv direction has already been relieved—Russians have withdrawn the maximum number of troops to the Kursk region. Then they started pulling forces from the east, but they did not abandon their main target—Pokrovsk,” Zelenskyy stated.

The president emphasized that, thanks to the Kursk operation, the situation in the Pokrovsk and Kharkiv directions has stabilized, making it “very difficult” for the enemy to regain the ability to threaten Pokrovsk again.

“I can only thank our soldiers for the Kursk operation. I believe it has fulfilled its mission,” he concluded.
