Zelenskyy: Putin preparing for war, not peace

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is not preparing for negotiations or peace but for the continuation of war. According to Zelenskyy, Russia is expanding its army by over 100,000 troops.

“Putin is not preparing for negotiations, not for the start of peace, but for the continuation of war—not just against us, Ukraine. They are currently increasing their army by more than 100,000 soldiers,” Zelenskyy said.

He emphasized that all Ukraine’s partners must be aware of this development, and intelligence-sharing is already underway. Zelenskyy also warned that every European country would need to strengthen its defense.

“We must collectively assess the threats and our countermeasures. It is essential to have a clear understanding that here, in Europe, all countries will have to strengthen their defense, and the goal of allocating 5% of GDP for defense will remain on the agenda,” he stated.

Zelenskyy also mentioned that the new head of NATO’s Military Committee visited Ukraine today, discussing preparations for the upcoming Ramstein-format meeting and Ukraine’s defense needs.

“Today, we discussed preparations for Ramstein and our defense requirements—our collective defense. Our intelligence informs us that the Russians are creating new divisions and expanding their military production.

It is evident that their cooperation with North Korea will continue. Unfortunately, Moscow is spreading modern warfare technologies in the region, particularly drone technologies,” Zelenskyy said.

According to him, this confirms that Putin is preparing to prolong the war.
