Zelenskyy: ‘Ukraine will never compromise on territorial integrity’

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reaffirmed that Ukraine will never compromise on its territorial integrity while emphasizing the country’s commitment to achieving peace with security guarantees. Speaking in Ankara, Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine seeks an end to the war, but any resolution must include reliable security assurances.

“As a nation, we want peace, we want this war to end, but of course, we want it to be based on the provision of security guarantees. We want these guarantees to come from the United States, the European Union, all of Europe, including Turkey,” Zelenskyy said.

He made it clear that Ukraine would never accept any compromise regarding its territorial integrity, adding that he could not act against the Ukrainian Constitution. “We will never recognize the temporarily occupied territories as part of Russia. They are part of Ukraine,” he stressed.

At the same time, Zelenskyy stated that Kyiv prefers to reclaim its occupied territories through diplomatic means. “We do not want to lose our people; they are our greatest asset,” he said.

Addressing all mediating parties, including Russia, the United States, and European nations, Zelenskyy underscored that Ukraine seeks a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, avoiding further bloodshed, but will never surrender its sovereignty or territorial integrity.
