Georgia’s fifth president, Salome Zourabichvili, on Thursday extended congratulations to Poland on assuming the presidency of the Council of the European Union. In a social media post, Zourabichvili wrote:
“I congratulate Poland on its presidency of the Council of the European Union. I wish you success in this important role. From Georgia, we look forward to your continued support for the Georgian people and our common European values and development.”
Poland assumed the presidency yesterday, taking over from Hungary, and will lead the Council for the next six months.
