Zourabichvili to citizens: “Your vote decides tomorrow’s Georgia”

President Salome Zourabichvili addressed the public in a pre-election video message, urging all citizens to participate in the October 26 elections and emphasizing that the future of Georgia rests in their hands.

“Dear compatriots, first and foremost, I want to thank each of you deeply…Thank you to everyone standing in line to travel to your registered regions, despite difficulties like limited transport or long journeys. You will still vote, which means you’re voting for Georgia. I want to extend a special thanks to our citizens in the diaspora and those abroad who have fought to ensure their voices will be heard tomorrow,” she said.

Zourabichvili praised efforts in challenging locations, including in Israel, where Georgian citizens worked to open polling stations under difficult circumstances. She acknowledged that some communities lack polling stations nearby or face logistical challenges, but expressed hope that such issues would be addressed in the future.

The president also highlighted the enthusiasm of young voters, saying
“I am especially grateful to the young people who are mobilized like never before and who will vote tomorrow for the first time, choosing the party they believe in. The most important thing here is that everyone votes according to their beliefs, desires, and free will. No one can force you, no one will see whom you voted for, and no one will punish you afterward for your choice.”

Concluding her message, Zourabichvili encouraged all citizens not to fear and to make their voices count.

“Go to the polls, fear nothing. The future of this country must be decided by your voice. Let no one stay home; the future Georgia is yours to shape,” she said.
