From January 1, 2023, the minimum salary of doctors will be set at 7 GEL per hour, and an average of 1,260 GEL per month, and in the case of nurses, it will be 4.4 GEL per hour, and an average of 792 GEL per month.

The Georgian health ministry said on Monday that currently up to 9,000 doctors receive less than the minimum wage, and in the case of nurses, this figure is above  8,000.

The body noted that minimum hourly salary will increase over the years and by 2025 it will be 9 GEL for a doctor, and 5.6 GEL for a nurse.
