Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said on Wednesday he may visit Kyiv and meet with president Volodymyr Zelenskyy if the right conditions are met.

"Nothing has been decided at this point, but we will consider" whether to visit Ukraine depending on "various circumstances," Kishida said at a parliamentary session after a ruling party lawmaker urged the official to follow examples of other foreign leaders and visit the war-torn country. 

Among the G-7 countries, British, Canadian, French, German, and Italian top officials have already visited Ukraine since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February, while the US President Joe Biden met with Zelenskyy in Washington.
