German FM’s plane landing after second attempt at tbilisi airport “not related” to runway problems - Georgian Air Navigation

The Georgian Air Navigation on Friday reported that the landing of the German foreign minister’s plane at Tbilisi international airport late on Thursday was not related to the presence of another plane on the runway that, as the German Spiegel, claimed blocked it.

The agency said the runway was “completely free” and stressed it reportedly was the dilot’s decision to make the second try before landing, which the air navigation said was a “common practice” in civil aviation and was not considered as an incident.

The German FM is now holding her meetings in Tbilisi.
