PM credits Gov’t, people for EU candidacy, highlights priority of “national interests” amid global challenges

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili expressed his appreciation on Monday, attributing the achievement of EU candidacy status to the collaborative efforts of the Georgian Dream authorities and the nation's citizens.

Addressing the Tbilisi Ambassadors' Conference, Garibashvili commended the Georgian Dream Government and Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder of the ruling party and former Prime Minister, for their “instrumental roles” in advancing Tbilisi's EU integration and maintaining “uninterrupted peace” since 2012.

"Our government has adeptly preserved peace, stability, and achieved robust economic development amidst the challenging geopolitical landscape," he remarked.

Garibashvili highlighted Georgia's “remarkable economic progress” in the past three years, positioning the country as “one of the fastest-growing economies globally”.

Expressing gratitude to partner countries, as well as European and American colleagues, for their “unwavering support”, he underscored the success of his active foreign policy, resulting in "fruitful visits and enhanced bilateral relations."

In acknowledging the contributions of ambassadors and Foreign Affairs Minister Ilia Darchiashvili, Garibashvili lauded the “effective governance” displayed by the country's foreign office in addressing numerous challenges.
