Former sportsman, actor, director, and parliamentarian Soso Jachvliani has passed away due to a severe illness on Thursday, family confirmed. 


Born on June 5, 1958, Jachvliani graduated from the State Institute of Physical Education of Georgia in 1978, and later from the University of Theater and Cinema in 1995.


Jachvliani made contributions to Georgian cinema as a director, with notable films including "My First Love," "Svani," and "Give me a Pump." He also appeared in several films. 


In the realm of politics, Jachvliani entered the Parliament of Georgia in 2012 as a member of the Georgian Dream ruling  party. Additionally, he served as the president of the Armwrestling Federation.
