Zelenskyy urges strengthened air defense for ukraine amidst Russian attacks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the recent onslaught by Russia, revealing that on the night of April 11, Ukraine endured an assault of 40 missiles and approximately 40 drones.

While some missiles and drones were successfully intercepted, Zelenskyy highlighted the deliberate targeting of critical infrastructure, with Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region bearing the brunt of the attacks. Other regions, including Kyiv, Zaporozhye, Odessa, and Lviv, also faced aggression.

Zelenskyy stressed the urgency for enhanced air defense capabilities, asserting that Ukraine requires concrete defense support rather than prolonged deliberations and indifference from its allies and partners.

"This is the moment for action, not hesitation," Zelenskyy asserted. "We must stand united against Russian aggression and demonstrate to the world that terrorism will not be tolerated. Allowing Russia to act with impunity not only threatens Ukraine but also undermines global security."

Reports indicate that the Russian forces launched kamikaze drones and various missiles, including the utilization of "daggers," in their latest assault on Ukraine. Critical infrastructure facilities were targeted, resulting in damage to the power grid across multiple regions, including Kharkiv, Lviv, Kyiv, Odessa, and Zaporizhia.
