Georgian Catholics Patriarch urges unified prayers amidst national turmoil

In an address on Sunday, Georgian Catholics Patriarch Ilia II implored the nation to unite in prayer as Georgia “grapples with challenges on its path to development”.

The patriarch emphasized the critical need for divine intervention in a country facing one of its most tumultuous phases in recent history.

"Today is a special day, and that's why I want to ask you to strengthen our prayers for Georgia from today," urged Ilia II.

Acknowledging the collective yearning for peace, the patriarch underscored the necessity for righteous conduct and reverence towards the Holy Trinity - the ultimate source of peace. Drawing inspiration from biblical narratives, Ilia II invoked the steadfast faith of Ananias, Azarias and Misael, who emerged unscathed from the flames of adversity, protected by divine providence.

"Our nation stands at the precipice of uncertainty, yet amidst the fiery trials, let us seek solace in the enduring power of prayer," proclaimed the patriarch.

Echoing the supplications of the faithful, Ilia II implored the Almighty to extend His benevolence to Georgia, shielding it from turmoil and bestowing the blessings of unity and tranquility upon its people.
