Georgian diplomat Gigi Gigiadze has condemned the potential use of ordinary passports by individuals holding diplomatic status, calling it “a great shame”, following the EU decision on Monday to suspend visa liberalisation for holders of Georgian diplomatic and service passports.
Speaking on the matter, Gigiadze emphasized that such actions would be an attempt to conceal one’s true diplomatic status.
“If people who hold diplomatic passports decide to enter with ordinary passports, first of all, this is a great shame,” Gigiadze said. “They are hiding their diplomatic status and trying to enter the European Union in a forged manner, which is deeply shameful.”
