The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has released updated figures on Russia’s combat losses since the start of the war.
According to the report, Russia has lost approximately 1,224,460 military personnel in Ukraine since the beginning of the invasion, including killed and wounded. The reported increase over the past day is 1,370 personnel.
Estimated total Russian combat losses in Ukraine between February 25, 2022, and January 16, 2026, are as follows:
Tanks: 11,563 (+6)
Armored combat vehicles: 23,908 (+4)
Artillery systems: 36,230 (+48)
Multiple launch rocket systems: 1,614 (+3)
Air defense systems: 1,277 (+0)
Fixed-wing aircraft: 434 (+0)
Helicopters: 347 (+0)
Operational and tactical-level drones: 107,884 (+527)
Cruise missiles: 4,163 (+0)
Fast attack boats/ships: 28 (+0)
Submarines: 2 (+0)
Motor vehicles and fuel tankers: 74,486 (+180)
